Nicole was the winner of our Cash for the Holidays Contest, and has won herself a check for $500, courtesy of Medical Scrubs Mall! Not only did Nicole win this contest, but she also won an iPad2 from our last contest a few months ago. We never expected a contestant to win two consecutive contests, but Nicole’s determination proved us wrong. For this reason, we decided to implement a new rule for our future contests: “Any former contestants who have won a contest within the past 12 months will not be eligible to participate”. After the 12 month period ends, the former winners will be allowed back in the running. This addendum to the rules is intended simply to keep it fair for all contestants.
Read below for the answers to Nicole’s contest entry and interview questions, as well as a little bit about the contestant herself.
Why do I deserve to win Cash for the Holidays?
I deserve to win this money because I am a very hard working girl; I work almost over 50 hours a week, plus I go to school two days out of the week taking 4 classes. I hardly have time to study or any time to myself. This would help a lot for the holidays so the pressure of buying gifts or paying the bills won’t have to be a problem. I strive to be better but living on paycheck to paycheck really is hard. I hope I win, thank you.
1. How does it feel to win Cash for the Holidays?
It feels amazing!! I was so worried I wouldn’t have the money to buy everyone in my family presents but I lucked out! =) Winning has helped me a lot, not only buying presents but in being determined to win!
2. How did you go about getting all of your votes? What did you do that helped the most (Facebook, Emails, etc)? Did you do anything differently than last time?
I posted a mass event to everyone on my Facebook friend list which would equal 879 friends and I went to both Florida Atlantic University and Florida International University and passed out fliers to vote for me.
3. What brand of uniform do you enjoy wearing most at work?
Dickies, they are the most comfortable.
4. Is there any one thing you would have done differently in starting your veterinary career?
No I wouldn’t change anything, just doing what I have to with school and work and getting by to achieve my goals.
5. What advice would you give to someone who wants to go into veterinary school?
Don’t give up; even if it seems like forever, if it’s what you love go for it! Succeed in what you love to do most.
