Give a little, Save a life

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is the time of year when the major breast cancer charities campaign in order to increase awareness of the disease and also to hold fundraisers for research into the cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and hopefully an eventual cure of breast cancer. Over the years, this has become a worldwide phenomenon, and everyone has their own way of honoring their loved ones who lost their lives to cancer, or celebrating their own ability to survive the disease. Many organizations hold 5k walk/run-athons, like the American Cancer Society and Susan G Komen, while others such as the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation, sell t-shirts, license plates, and specialty pink credit cards, and are holding breakfasts and even a masquerade ball in order to raise funds for the cause. However, this is not just an “American thing”… check out what some other countries have done in the past few years to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month:

Pink White House (October 2008)

Pink Tokyo Tower (October 2007)

Botanical Garden of Curitiba, Brazil (October 2010)

So how can you get involved in one of these events? Click on any of the links below (or find any other one of your choosing), and see what you’d be interested in participating in, and be sure to make a donation for the cause.

Here at Medical Scrubs Mall, we are all about giving. In fact, we will be participating in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk on October 9, along with our sister company, Uniform Advantage. For more information on this walk, or to donate to our team’s goal of $5,000, please RSVP to our Facebook Event, or visit Uniform Advantage’s Team Page on the American Cancer Society website.
